Easter 2014

We had our own little Easter celebration this morning by surprising the kids with some baskets from the Easter Bunny. They didn't think the Easter Bunny would be stopping by since our home wasn't anywhere near as clean as I would have liked it. I have told my children before each Holiday that Santa/Easter Bunny will not come and visit messy homes. Drezden ran in to my room this morning with her basket and yelled, "The Easter Bunny still comes to messy houses!"
After she came in I woke up Emmett, Sullivan and Drezden brought in Emmett's basket and they were all so excited to have the few goodies inside. I sent Phil outside while the kids were distracted with their baskets to set out all the Easter Eggs for a little hunt! I bought quite a bit of candy and eggs. We had planned on celebrating with Phil's brother and friends family, but Phil was very sick yesterday so we had to cancel. He is still not feeling 100%, but better than yesterday.
Since we did not make it to church today I sat the children down and we watched a few videos on the Mormon Channel on the iPad. Sullivan gets quite sensitive and during the part where Jesus had his hands and feet nailed Sullivan told me he could not watch. I love small children and just how sweet and thoughtful they can be.
Here are some photos from today. The one on the bottom I couldn't decide if I liked the black and white or color version better.

And Happy Easter to you and your family.
Love,
me and my family

My mother

My mom was able to fly out for a couple of weeks to hang out before baby came. I had planned on doing some things around the house, going to some fun places, and showing off our new town while she was here. But since we were potty training Emmett during the time she was here we stayed at home. And I am HAPPY to say that Emmett is a BIG BOY! Phil was a little skeptical of whether or not Emmett was ready, but we stuck with it and I am so glad we did! He has done so well!
While mom was here we signed here up for Match.com. She has been single for a while and it is about time she meets someone. While she was here her companion, Gordon(cat), of about 18 or so years passed away. I honestly believe that family pets can be with their families when this life as we know it is over.
It has been nice to hang out with my mom and see all the positive changes she is making. I know there are some who think I should not give her a second chance, but she is my mother. Always will be. And the Lord commands us to forgive all.

Juanita Beach!

This weekend we decided it was finally time to head to Juanita Beach and build some sand castles! The kids much preferred playing and throwing sand/mud in the water. We have decided next time we will bring some towels, bigger shovels, and lunch! Emmett did not want to leave! And I was surprised we were able to find some shells!
Here are some pictures of our beach fun! Oh, and this park is only a 10 minute drive from home!

While they sleep...

I am pretty sure I am not the only mother who likes to take pictures of her children while they sleep. I get so caught up with what is going on during the day that I forget to enjoy their youth. They grow way too fast!

Spring Break!!!

I think these kids of mine are pretty great! Here we are today playing in the backyard! Emmett likes to make poison, and Drezden has been enjoying her new jumprope! She earned it from getting 100% on her spelling test! Phil surprised her with it! Sullivan hates taking pictures, but as his mom I don't care! I just want to capture these cute faces before they get even bigger!
