We painted!!!

I decided it was time to paint! I know I painted only a year ago, but I was ready for some new colors and I have to say that I love the new colors! I just need some things to hang on my walls!!! Wait! We painted again... instead of on the walls I found some canvas that were lying in the garage, and you guessed it.. we painted! I ended up doing a couple of simple paintings with the same colors that I painted my walls and I let Drezden have at it at one with some acrylic paint that I had accumulated over the last couple of years. I think it turned out pretty good for a two year old! I ended up hanging my pics up and Drezden wanted hers hung up to. Anyway, here are some pics!

MERMAID OR A WHALE?

I got this from a friend and I thought it would be fun to share!

Recently, in large French city, a poster featuring a young, thin and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym. It said:

¨THIS SUMMER DO YOU WANT TO BE A MERMAID OR A WHALE?¨

A middle aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym.

To Whom It May Concern:

Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans).. They have an active sex life, they get pregnant and have adorable baby whales. They have a wonderful time with dolphins stuffing themselves with shrimp. They play and swim in the seas, seeing wonderful places like Patagonia, the Barren Sea and the coral reefs of Polynesia. Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs. They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans. They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world.

Mermaids don't exist. If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of Argentinean psychoanalysts due to identity crisis. Fish or human? They don't have a sex life because they kill men who get close to them not to mention how could they have sex? Therefore they don't have kids either. Not to mention who wants to get close to a girl who smells like a fish store?

The choice is perfectly clear to me; I want to be a whale.

P.S. We are in an age when media puts into our heads the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver and a piece of chocolate with my friends. With time we gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, ¨Good gosh, look how smart I am.¨

Sullivans Birthday Zoo Trip!

Yesterday we went to the Zoo! It had been a while since I had been to the zoo so it was nice to go again! Plus the kids loved it and when they got in the car to head home they zonked out! It was nice! We will definitely go again! Maybe next year:)
It was so nice to see some family members! Thanks for those of you that came!

Tell someone you love them!

As a mother, I often daydream about the day my little
Drezden
will surprise me with her words of

love.

This just reminds me of how we need to feel love
and to give love!

So I give to all of you a challenge...
a challenge to tell someone that you love
"I love you"

The Market Skirt

So I saw this skirt here and I knew I had to try it! It was so easy and so fun to make for Drezden! If any of you are interested in making it too here is the tutorial
! I haven't done the pocket yet, but I might just leave it off... I think it is way cute without the pocket too!

Drezden loves playing in the sink I mean doing the dishes! ;P

See how happy she is! I hope she is always this excited about the dishes!!
A mother can always wish!!!

Just some more pics of the final product

I got a new toy!

So I have been wanting a sewing machine for some time now... For a while there I had my MIL extra industrial sewing machine but it just wasn't working out. So Yesterday I got this one!!! I am way excited to use it and get into the habit of sewing. Wish me luck!

So I tried making Drezden a skirt and top. I think the ruffles on the skirt could be a little smaller... The shirt, turned out okay. I wasn't using a pattern and the top was a little big but still cute so I ended up sewing some red ribbon on. It ended up getting ripped off, but that is okay. Now I need to re-thread the serger that is in my garage and I can make up all sorts of things.I want to try to make this skirt again!
Of course I had to add a pic of Sullivan. Don't mind the dirty floor. It is the entry way into the house... What can you expect???

haha.. Sullivan was eating noodles and has a bit of a cold (I think) and he sneezes... Yep! I went to go wipe his nose and a noodle about 5 in long comes out instead of a booger... What a little bugger! :D to top it off he laughed about it afterward.

(the noodle must have tickled)

Alma 7:22-25

22 And now my beloved brethren, I have said these things unto you that I might awaken you to a sense of your duty to God, that ye may walk blameless before him, that ye may walk after the holy order of God, after which ye have been received.
23 And now I would that ye should be ahumble, and be bsubmissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive.
24 And see that ye have afaith, hope, and charity, and then ye will always abound in good works.
25 And may the Lord bless you, and keep your garments spotless, that ye may at last be brought to sit down with aAbraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the holy prophets who have been ever since the world began, having your garments bspotless even as their garments are spotless, in the kingdom of heaven to go no more out.
